There are a lot of crawdads in Monument Lake...Not too long of a drive from Fort Carson. Used to fish for them every summer. We made rectangular cages out of rabbit wire...a rectangular box with the front left open. Baited the bottom of the trap and tossed it out...rope attached to the front corners. Let it set for an hour or so after dark and then pull it in fast..The crawdads are pushed to the back of the trap. Repeat. More traps...more crawdads.

Go to any irrigation ditch right about now before they shut them down and get all you want.
