Sounds like you are getting rid of the baitcasting swimbait rod for a spinning one? I prefer spinning rods most of the time but, for swimbaits, I'd go with a baitcasting outfit. It's easier to leverage arm/body movements and reduce fatigue on a baitcasting outfit.

This outfit was purchased by my lovely wife for my birthday this past winter. Other than a test run of about 25 casts in February at a local pond with a 1 oz weight it has seen no real action. I'm just not into baitcasters- at all.... The line is just some cheap mono I put on to make the test run. No adjustments have been made to the reel at all. Straight outta the box.
