I was just so happy to be out on the water. It's been way too long between fishing trips for me unfortunately. I didn't feel like going to far, so went to Deckers and it was packed. Cars at at every little parking pull off. I was probably the only one not fly fishing, at least that I saw. I decided to take spinning gear. I fished from 12:00 to 3:00 and just caught one healthy 15-16" rainbow on a small rapala countdown lure in brown trout pattern. Saw a couple of other fish, but no other bites. Sure is crowded down there on weekends and holidays, but I guess that's true of most tailwaters on nice days in the winter. I hope to just get out more often in the upcoming months.
