Just wondering if anyone has ventured up that way this year yet. The DOW report says the ice is coming off quickly so I imagine it has to be close to open by now. I imagine most of you fish up that way during the year anyone else experience the fishing taking a huge step backwards last year. On a normal summer day I can hook 50-100 fish over on the East lake but last year I had days of long slow periods and had to fish much harder to catch them. Is it smarter fish or did I just catch it wrong a couple times. Best time to fish up there is Memorial weekend I think so my flies are tied and hoping for a good weather weekend to head up there......

we fished south delaney this last weekend, real windy with lots of rain, saw some fly fishers doing real well, mostly 15 to 18 inch cutthroats, we did real well up there ice fishing this last year, saw tons of big fish under the ice at all 3 lakes, so i think the fish are still there, i think that they have been changing their feeding habits, you hear lots of water activity at night, and we actually catch quite a few at night throwing big spinners.

I was up to north 3 times since ice off(about 1 1/2 months ago) caught the biggest bow I have ever seen come out of there. It was a big female with eggs 24" long and FAT. I'm guessing about 12-13 lbs. my best day was 11 fish all on an egg pattern. N delany will beat most guys up pretty bad but its worth catching a few quality fish. The damsal and tricos hatch are on right now. A big craw pattern also always works well in the hot months. Lastly if the lake is slow throw odd stuff at them. I have caught those fish on plastic worms and spinnerbaits before. my 2 cents.
Good Luck
