After a couple of years of no fishing, I caught the bug again. I'm starting with local ponds and lakes, hitting Berkeley, Ray Baker, and the Gravel Lakes or whatever they are called in Thornton.. No luck on any of them until today in Thornton. I was standing on the edge of the new pier, and I had just tied on a size 2 hook with a gulp earthworm. Looked over the edge, and there was mama rainbow, all 23 inches of her. I dropped the bait in front of her nose, and that's all she wrote. She was full of eggs, and I let her go. someone else said his father caught a large bow yesterday on power bait.
