I was worried about this too wasnt sure if the newer motors and electronics eliminates this...The reason I run a separate bat. is it eliminates any engine interference and provides a back-up should the main run low.
Yeah... I ain't got nothin' "newer"... lolI was worried about this too wasnt sure if the newer motors and electronics eliminates this...
I do the same as Neal and also have a 3 bank charger (1 battery for engine/finder(s) and 2 batteries for electric trolling motor). Never had a problem with interference running on the main battery and never ran out of juice.I run my three finders and the gas motors on one large battery which is brand new. Then I run my Electric on a bank charger and two batteries. I am thinking about upgrading to a 3 bank charger though? I use the electric so much I run it down to nothing every day.
Everyone once in a while I turn on the big motor for a minute just to make sure it is adequately charged. But since I upgraded the main battery I haven't had any problems. Before the upgrade I drained the main battery the second day of the Pueblo tournament![]()

Regular. What type of big battery are you running 29 series, gel or regular?
Any charger worth a damn has a "maintenance" phase... leave it plugged in!Do you leave your 3 bank plugged in all the time or unplug when charged?
I dont leave it plugged in because my out building has no electricity.Do you leave your 3 bank plugged in all the time or unplug when charged?
I have been going about every third day and I just unplug mine as I get ready to pull out of the drive way. If I plug it in when I get back , it is always completely charged if I check the next morning.Do you leave your 3 bank plugged in all the time or unplug when charged?
