Don't laugh....

... but does anyone have an ORIGINAL banjo minnow set? I'm not looking for the 006 version (the newer version) but the original ones, sold in the 90's. I have 2 (count it....2) left out of my big 100+ piece set my grandpa bought me back in the day and they've gotten pretty ragged over the years.

The one I loved the most was the 5" firetiger chartreuse that (apparently) the company forgot they sold. It's not on the website ANYWHERE and I can't find an original set on eBay.

I realize these are not desirable baits, and don't work as advertised. I realize that these are mostly a joke amongst anglers, and I realize that they're pretty much crap to most people... But I actually figured how to catch fish with these back east. Since I'm moving back, I'd like to have a few in the ol' arsenal.

Pictured below is my LAST remaining 5" chartreuse firetiger patterned banjo minnow. I hope someone can help me out.

Neal has some but they have snagging hooks in the head!

I bet you can probably trade two or three of the images below per each Banjo minnow Neal has...

Either this or borrow one of Neals spear guns and put the minnow on the tip. You could also get one of the grenades Neal uses and attach the minnow to that.
Actually I may know someone and will ask him, he doesnt frequent this site.
Thanks, Z. I'd appreciate that.
The ones I'm looking for are the "Virtual Reality" banjo minnow... They were the first ones that got their own "infomercial," IMO.

THIS INFOMERCIAL IS FOR THE NEWER 006 MINNOW... But it's still fun to watch. ;)

http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/banjo_minnow/

This is a package deal with 12 original banjo minnows and 12 VR photoprinted minnows (the ones I'm after)...

Anyone done business with angelfire.com before? It looks pretty arcane... like a late 90s mail order site.

A little afraid to do business with an online company with 20 year old internet technology.

:fear:
$40 for some banjo Minnows!! Spend your money wisely and get your sissy stick fixed instead. LMAO

Here you go:

I have a box of Roland Martin helicopter lures you can have!
I'm not buying them right now. I don't have $40 to spend... But when I get to Tennessee, **** opens up financially, and I will probably buy em. ;)

Fly rod first... As in before I leave.
sorry all I got is the new ones and some helicopter lures too
lmao
Oprah, stick to 3oz cat weights.
Maybe one will knock a fish out and float to the surface.

HEY.... I've had success when using My Cousin's banjo minnows...
But, it was up on Lake of the Woods, Canada...
For Walleye's AND Pike.... :thumb:

Yep, because nobody uses heavy braid, heavy sinkers, and circle hooks...

FISH ON!
Didn't watch your videos but the first pic in a c-rig.... Dragging it along slowly and more than likely in current.
Second pic fishing off a boat.

But keep doing what you are doing. Keep in mind cats don't get near as big as other places in the country. Sure a few lakes produce some nice fish but they are far more rare than the norm.

You are a hard headed mofo
Hobie posted two sweet reports, posted a sweet info post on what he was doing (same time of the year, similar water temps, etc...) but you ignore.
Good luck hope you prove 95% off us wrong?

If I post some cats I've caught would that help?
Nah, that head is harder than a rock :-X:thumb::smile:
I fished today with a weightless rig under a float. Exactly how hobie suggested.

I'm willing to try anything. I only switched to this heavier rig this week. Haven't used it in Colorado before. I'm trying everything I can, listening to successful anglers who catch fish.

I'm not stubborn, I'm trying everything I can, including hobie's suggested method.
