DOW TO DISCUSS RESULTS OF FISH POPULATION STUDY AT MEETING IN CAÑON CITY

Anglers interested in fisheries management of the Arkansas River in the Cañon City area are invited to attend a Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) open house March 2 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the BLM meeting room at 3170 E. Main in Cañon City.

"Over the years, we have heard from anglers in the Cañon City area that there weren't enough trout in the Arkansas River in Fremont County," said Greg Policy of the DOW.

"Last fall we conducted fish population surveys in the area, and would like the share the results of those surveys with the public," he said. "We would also like to gather public input about how to develop cooperative projects to improve the fishery."

The focus of the meeting will be the Arkansas River through the Cañon City area, but other fishery issues within southeast Colorado will also be discussed.

I'm going try to make this, but with me working nights I might not be able to. This should be an interesting meeting, see if the Ark trout really hang out on private land or not. :p
