PERFECT weather. 40 degrees, barely any wind at all, sunny...wow.

Fished above 11 Mile today with my dad. Got there just after 12:30. Fished from the lower parking lot to start. The report on 11 Mile's site said it was pretty much unfishable....not. Plenty of open water anywhere you went. I started with spinning gear, fishing with tubes and cranks, while my dad did the fly fishing thing. Today was not my day. My dad caught three, one really nice, and even after I busted out my fly rod, I came up short. All three fish hit a Barrs Emerger below a pinlk egg pattern. All were rainbows.

Here is the nicest one, 22 ish inches.

Mustang,

That report of no open water was correct on Saturday. Only open water saterday along the river was near the Spinney dam. The river section near the first (corral) parking lot near the bridge was totally iced. Must of melted really quick. Have not seen many rainbows taken out of there lately, mostly browns.

I was surprised by the bows, I thought we were gonna get browns. The ice must have melted fast, plus they have been messing with the flow out of Spinney, which I'm sure can mess with the ice.
