E-chip lures-HIT or hype?

1514 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  mauser
Anyone tried the lures with the E-chip? Supposedly this chip emmits the same subtle electronic signal as live prey. Hammerhead sharks use this almost exclusively to find prey but can't seem to find much about it for other species.

Is this just yet another trick to get me to cough up more $$$? Anyone even tying these things on?If I catch fish on them it might just be dumb luck. I want to know what the experienced anglers think about this.

Thanks in advance for any input on the subject.

I've read some hi-tech stuff on largemouth bass having a sixth sense that picks up on electrical impulses. Fascinating stuff. Some really smart scientist is going to make a mint on these things if they can perfect the science of it.

But this e-chip lure design is not what I was hoping for. The motion of the lure creates the signal...sporadic signal at best...looks like they need to go back to the drawing board.

If it was really a HOT pattern, the BASS tourney guys would all be using them. So far I can't find a single person who has even tried them. Makes me even more curious.

Thanks for the input.
