With still no ice in the MN Metro area I decided to put some miles on this weekend and head to the North Country in search of gold! We were able to find a few lakes with fishable ice and found some Walleyes that were cooperative and hungry. All fish we released to swim, spawn and grow larger!

I was raised close to there, in Babbitt. Not sure where I'm going to grow up!;D;D
Haha :) I heard while up there this weekend that some BIG Pike are being caught in Babbitt right now.

Man... Love that section of the Country...
I see that Lake of The Woods is still not capped..
At least up by Sioux Narrows, CA.
Yeah, it's a beautiful area! It's been a weird winter. LOTW still isn't iced up yet! Mille Lacs is down, no keeping walleye this year (not iced up either). Upper Red has been getting pounded for the last 3 weeks. I think Winnie just got some fishable ice in the last few days.
