Hit Evergreen yesterday, went around mid afternoon, saaw a ton of people fishing right around the wooden walkway, should have taken a hint, but we fished between the dam and the cove on the opposite side, there were three of us and we tried salmon eggs, kastys, tubes, sedish pimps, u name it, i guess we shouldnt have been so patient, no hits or anything, 7 inches of clear ice with a thin layer of snow on it

c u guys on the 17th!

Re: Evergreen 12/10

Was anyone catching anything out there yesterday, Mustang?

Evergreen was really slow this summer. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come for the winter. :(

Epic, I used to think that about boat fishing too, go where the crowd of boats is... Now I realize a crowd attracts more and more people, regardless of whether fish are being caught. It still gets me some times, its then that I take a drive by/troll by to see whats down there and whats happening.

I still think its best to script your game plan, for a while anyway.

Re: Evergreen 12/10

I'm convinced that there are no fish in Evergreen, despite the stocking reports. Never seen one taken out of there despite tons of folks it everytime I go there. I did see a murdered tiger muskie on the shore though.

There is or should I say was at least one fish in Evergreen. I was there last week and caught one rainbow. I put it back, so unless someone else has caught it since then there is at least one!

Dan that fish drifted over the dam (spillway) into Bear Creek today thus there is no longer any trout in evergreen. j/k they are in there caught a couple musky, several browns and many rainbows this spring ,summer, fall in about 15 trips there.

Mustang....I have briefly fished over by those woodon docks on the southeast side. It look prettly deep right off those docks. Can anyone confirm this by knowing the structural layout (topo) etc?

All of the structure is now under the ice skating rink, old foundations, old boat ramp, and other misc gravely stuff around the lake house, the rest of the lake was dredged and is like a fish bowl, straight drops from shore tapering out gradually. Everywhere else out there is mucky bottom with occasional wood, oh and plenty of cans and bottles along the highway side.

Re: Evergreen 12/10

Well PWM, I guess you guys missed one. I caught the brown in my avatar pic at Evergreen this spring. ;)

Evergreen always receives heavy fishing pressure throughout the year. It's your typical "put-and-take" fishery, however, this year there was less "putting" and more "taking".

We still like the lake since it's only 5 minutes from the house... (and 2 minutes to several bars and restaurants! ;D )
