Now that Labor Day is about over, and the crowds are lessining, where is everyones favorite and "hottest" fall fishing spot?

Its part of the South Platte River. I consider Waterton Canyon from the inlet to Chatfield up through the canyon to Stronia Springs Reservoir.

cool thanks is the whole canyon open to access?

its open to foot, bycycle and horse, its the start of the colorado trail- pretty area that doesn't get much pressure

thanks how many miles from one end to the other would it make for a good couple day back pack?

not sure on exact mileage- had some buddies in college who did it on foot from durango to denver- took more than two weeks- they had food drops along the way

6 miles to the dam ... halfway up the fishing is restricted to flies and lures ... release al 16" or less. The closer to the top, the better the fishing

it takes about 45 minutes on a bike ... not sure about walking.

You have to go past the 3 mile mark or you catch mostly 8 inch rainbows, but I have seen some larger taken out of the lower section
