Finally got cold enough to go chasing big gills and caught my first Green Sunfish through the ice, I love global warming!

No, I rarely ever kill a fish anymore, big trophy gills, 10 inches or better which is what I am fanatical about, need to be put back as they are genetically superior fish, and they can easily be fished out. Nice I agree with putting the big ones back for sure! I too am a fanatic about big sunfish. Check out this one I caught on my flyrod a few years ago. Have caught a few bigger, but this hybrid gill was one of the prettiest fish I have caught ever.

Yep, Green sunfish hybrid X. Flyfishing for big gills and bass is about all I do in April and May.
