What is this fish? I caught it (twice, i think) at Sawhill Ponds.
The coloration seems to be that of a crappie, but the body shape more like a bass.

And then there is this guy: I caught a few like this yesterday at Boulder Reservoir, off the dam. I thought they looked like bass, but had the blue spot like a bluegill....

these fish all had these blue squiggly lines on their faces too.

Thanks, guys. I am really confident in my ability to tell a pine tree from an oak, and a catfish from a trout....but after that my biological expertise starts to get iffy.
