Hi there, just joined. Looking forward to tips and tall tales of colorful Colorado fishing.

My dad, now departed, fished with his family in Wisconsin. Dad and I fished some southern AZ lakes in rental boats when I was a kid—some of my fondest memories growing up. We hit the lakes up here a few times after I moved. Now I have a kid of my own who really wants to catch herself a fish.

Unfortunately, her old man, yours truly, is hilariously bad at angling so I am now on a mission to learn more and keep the tradition alive.

We just got back from a trip to Grand Lake. No fish caught but at least we got a few nibbles on Creme spoiler shad, Berkeley worms, salmon eggs, and nightcrawlers. That's way better than our poor luck at Quincy a few months ago or on prior trips.

I'd like to figure out which lakes in and near Denver are a good bet for the remainder of summer for shore fishing and see what tips I can pick up for improving our success.
