ItIs it legal to fish off a bridge? The bridge is located on a county dirt road where the water comes from a lake into the arkansas river. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Stick around it only gets better if you get passed the initial barrage of witty sarcasm without giving up...

BTW- you might want to check out the fishing regs for that particular river to see if what you're asking isn't already in black and white.

Such a friendly group here...
I don't know my butt from a hole in the ground; but I once caught a 22" cuttthoat just downstream of the bridge that crosses the south platt in chatfield state park. I would show you the pic, but ; as I said, I don't know ........ at least I didn't get shunked or you wouldn't have this valuable info.

Nothing in the CPW fishing brochure specifically mentions that you can't fish off bridges...however, I would think if you couldn't fish from the bridge it would be posted as such. Depending on the area, I wouldn't do it for safety reasons. Some of those bridges are quite narrow.

Thanks everyone for the info. I have caught some good sized catfish off this bridge in the past and I think I will keep fishing off it till I am told by someone with authority not to!!! Thanks again!
