I'm headed up into the happiest place on earth in 2 weeks, and thought I'd see if anyone had any recent reports on the lakes on either side of the Chinese wall. I'll be backpacking in with my brother for my annual "mental health" vacation, and this will be the first time either of us have been in this specific area.

We're going to start at Stillwater trailhead and check out the Devils Causeway on our way to Causeway lake. Then will move south along the loop to Lost Lakes and then into Skinny Fish Basin before looping back out to Stillwater.

I'd be grateful for any advice on lakes to hit/lakes to avoid, flies/colors to use, good campsites, and any dayhikes in that area to caves or geologic oddities that are worth the walk.

I hiked Devils Causeway a week ago, just to hike not to fish. Stopped by Little Causeway Lake. It looked empty--no fishermen, no rises, no nothing.

Fly fishermen were heading to Bear River above Stillwater. Lots of fishing in Bear Lake.

Thanks for the reply! We're hiking in much further down the west side of devils causeway into those basin lakes, and then down and around the Chinese wall. I'm doubtful we'll run into any of the daytrippers you mention that go up to Bear lake, but that's the whole idea!

East and west lost lakes, deep, all have nice brookies. Nothing huge but decent. I would check out the stream by round lake also. Last time I fished Skinny fish lake it had big ass rainbows. That was like in 1982. Only cuttys now-
