I'm thinking about tying some flies this winter. I'm wondering what is a good vise to buy. I fly fish for trout and use conventional tackle for bass and walleyes. My goal is to make flies for trout fishing and docter up jigs and lures for bass. The hook size would vary from size 20 to 5/0. Can one vise do all that? I think I want a c-clamp type of vise. My price range is up to $200. Any info would be great. Thanx.

Check E-bay..I found a basic Regal vise for @ 50 bucks....seems to be working fine for me, though I can see where I may want a rotary in the future.

You'd be hard pressed to find a vise that accepts hooks over 2/0 without swapping the jaws. And just what are you fishing for with a 5/0 hook ???? Sharks and Marlin ?

I think the Peak vise is worth consideration.
I picked up a peak vise for a good price last week. I haven't had a chance to tie on it yet (and I'm a beginner tyer), but the quality of the vise seems awesome.
