Anyone familiar enough with the SMF software used by the fishing forum to know how to encode non-alphabetic symbols? For instance, if I want to say:

GPS Coordinates: N 40° 29.531´ W 105° 13.068´ (±17 ft.)

there is no way to type anything in the message compose window to generate the degree, minutes, or the ± symbol. (The minutes is not necessarily the same as a single quote in some fonts.) If the SMF would accept HTML symbols I would know how to do it, but it won't.

And no I won't tell how I managed to put in the above because it was a pain in the a## and I want to know if SMF has a reasonable way to do it.

Try ALT+0186
Jay, I guess I don't understand that instruction.
I tried holding down the ALT key and typing 0186. Didn't work.
I tried holding down the ALT key and typing "+" and then 0186. Didn't work.
I tried hitting the ALT key and letting it up then typing 0186. Didn't work.
What combination did I miss?

Hey! It works! Thanks bobber and Jay.

The information I missed is that the numbers have to be typed on the number pad (which I never use) or they won't work.

Also I discovered that the Num Lock must be on. Not obvious to some people, perhaps.
