Indeed they were. Damn do they get much larger than that?
apparently so. I'd say the one I snagged into was 10-12" several dead ones were 16"+
the internet tells me they are good smoked and used to be prized. also that they are spawning now and the roe is good in bacon and butter. I'll let someone else decide that. I just want to see a walleye at cherry creek that isn't decomposing.

as per usual I caught nothing on the rapalas, lost two good ones, said screw it and put on the gold kasty and immediately snagged the one pictured then 3 casts after I put it back I hooked the one that got away.

I've seen some gizzard shad quite a bit bigger than those at Lake Powell.

They are stinky fish. I can't imagine eating anything on one. I don't even want them in the boat.
