How do you get water out of carpet... it would be a pretty small job maybe a 5ft section... pipes bursted yesterday during the day and flooded a little bit of my basement.

Shoot man, I left work early to fix a frozen pipe, thankfully it all came out alright, but I'm fighting with my heater to keep the house warm and the pilot light on, at least we have the fireplace. And I've kept the faucets running a tad since yesterday. Tomorrow's 31 degree weather sounds tropical to me.

Rick, if it is just a bit, the shop vac is fine... if it is worse, you may wanna pull the carpet back and get rid of the pad...Carpet dries really easy, that pad...not so much.

Ya I can extract water from anything pretty much as well as dry out carpet pad drywall subfloors etc...to prevent mold and ya if it's small enough to do it yourself.go ahead because water damage really isn't cheap, dnt worry tho I would take care of my fellow fisherman if u think u needed me.but make sure the pad doesn't have a plastic vapor barrier on top of it, it won't release the water and you'll have to pull it.. But if u have questions just pm me and I'll call u or get back to u asap...my company right now is swamped with business so I'm pretty busy these next couple of days but if anyone wants me to help them out I dnt mind at all...dnt b afraid to leave a lil stream running through your faucets tonight...hope that helps good luck
