Have the increasing gas prices affected the number of times you fish each week? I know it has affected me. I used to get home from work or school and head to Chatfield (20 minutes away) for a couple hours, but now I am only going when I have a ton of time to fish. This is annoying me. I find myself day-dreaming about fishing during class. With my little part time job it's hard to keep money for gas and fish as much as I want to. That's why I invited my dad to Spinney this weekend. ;D

Gas prices? Credit cards work wonders. and checks? checks are as good as cash.

If that fails a ski mask and brown paper bag go a long ways...

ill do anything to fish it seems. ;)

It's taking it's toll I haven't been out in a month the cost is getting out of hand. Now with Grouse and Dove season starting my trips are more planned rather than just picking up and going. Try to get both hunting and fishing in on the same trip when possible.

I hate the gas prices, but I am not going to let them cut into my fishing. I still fish about four times a week. But I do most of my fishing in local waters within 30 minutes' drive from home, and am not taking any long trips to fish.

I'm sorry to say that I've also been affected. I want to go fishing tomorrow, but the 100 bones I have to pay for gas in the boat and the truck hurts alot. I've got things I need to fix in the house that I have put off so I can spend money on gas for fishing -- I'm also taking some heat for that decision :(

It's too late to try to sell my truck. No one would buy it. But even with these gas prices I admit that I still can't force myself to go to less than a 1/2 ton. When oh when will Ford/Chevy/Dodge come out with a 1/2 ton hybrid!?!?! ;D ;D

BTW, where do you put the tow bar on your motorcycle/scooter ???

i can see it now

(holding gun to drivers head) hey lady just take me to the lake and you wont get hurt!

you know the scary thing about the gas prices is how it will affect the general economy a large portion of the cost of every thing from food, clothes, building materials, everything is the cost of delivery and the manufactureing process uses lots of fuel and the employees got to get to work some how and at these prices there are lots of low wage jobs that wont support the employees transpotation costs. i think this may snow ball big time even last month (before this latest disaster) there wer lots of small/independant trucking companys parking there trucks cause they didnt have money to buy the fuel. and for those that dont realize it this country runs on trucking just about everything you buy has been on a truck for delivery even the gasoline it self gets delivered by truck when the stores dont have the shelves stocked because there arnt enough trucks to deliver it or they dont have the money to stock them this could get real bad real quick i hope it doesnt come to that but lesser things have done more nation wide damage in the past.

road kill thats it and it scares me to be honest. this disaster will have an impact for years to come and really makes us unstable which basicly means any other "event" in reference to our oil supply could literally crippal us as a nation can you imagine gas at or above $3 a gallon for a prolonged period. middle class comuters could no longer afford to comute and lets face it most people coomute at least 10 miles aday and without a pay increase people could not afford it. it would pretty much obsurd to expect a company to offer raises b/c of there increased cost just to operate.

Im getting laidoff on the 31st of Sept and then rehired by a different company for the same job... I have not got an offer letter from the new company yet so I do not know if I am getting a pay cut or anything about it. With house, car, insurance, utilities I cannot afford a pay cut (cant really afford it as it is). Gas prices going threw the roof and me working 30 miles away from the house is killing me as it is. If it keeps going up I will not be able to drive to work, and I work at night and busses dont run then. Something has to be done.

i feel for you epic i tarvel 10 miles to work one way my only gurantee is 5.15 an hour the rest is 6% commision so i dont make alot of money on bad days possible not even aenough to justify the expense of driving.(9-out-10 days though i make good money)i hope that we dont see this but it looks to be inevatable.
