Quick question....what rivers do not traditionally ice up in northern colorado? Im really enjoying trout fishing at Poudre but I know that it will ice up as it gets colder (ft collins area).

90%+ of all tail waters are fishable in the winter here.

The Arkansas under Pueblo is good fishery. It also has walleye and smallies that get washed thru the dam.

The S. Platte from Chatfield thru Littleton is stocked with trout.

The best fishing on the Taylor is during the winter. Not a lot of fisherman so the bigger fish that come down stay in the river instead of spooking back up but it can be a physical challenge.

I've enjoyed fishing the Frying Pan during the winter...usually only a few fisherman on the water. Keep in mind the feeding window is much shorter though as the river only warms to optimum temp during the warmest part of the day.
