Went out to lake granby this morning because no work today. I finally caught my first lake trout. It was only 18 inches long but nice and fat.

Nice! ;D where did you fish, how deep, what did you use and only one? ???

I caught the fish on a white tube jig with sucker meat in about 50 fow (just guessing; no fish finder. it was just off of sunset point. I hooked two others but lost them.

Are mysis shrimp about 1/4 to 1/2 inch long, kind of translucent gray/tan and with black eyes? My trout had a stomach packed full of these little guys, along with a big treble hook in its throat, which I found the hard way ouch!

Thanks for the mysis shrimp picture. that is exactly what my laker had been eating. His belly was full of mysis.
