Granby, Sunday, May 14th.

Fished near the dam, along the rocks and around an island out from the dam. Weather started out clear, but by noon, storms where circulating around and the wind picked up from the North.

Using gold Buoyants and Kastmasters caught numerous stocker Rainbows around 12” to 16”. Probably got around 25 in a few hours of fishing. Caught one 20” Laker on a Mepps (strange). Had one big Rainbow follow but not strike.

Switched to fly-fishing with a Type III sinking line and streamers as an experiment and had a similar catch rate. I was hoping smaller, more natural flies would entice some smarter, bigger fish but that did not happen. I guess Granby fish are not very selective
