Fished Granby Sunday. Got a late start ( around 11). Caught one 17in. laker. Son and I left around 2, got some skiing in . Ranger came by, taking a creel survey, said in was slow everywhere, and all season, for that matter. Could be my last time on the ice this season, bummer!

Does anybody know the current ice / open water conditions at Granby? Is shore fishing still possible, and if yes, is it everywhere or only somewhere? I guess that this big and deep lake will freeze late.
I was up last Saturday and it was getting ice around the edges. There were some sheets of ice forming in Arapahoe Bay. Surface temp everywhere was from 33-36 degrees. I heard tyoday that Rainbow Bay has a skim of ice, too. I'm betting it will be mostly frozen this weekend, but not thick enough to walk on yet.

Budget tackle said that ice has begun to form in coves and cutthroat, arapaho, rainbow bays but there are still some areas accessible for shore fishing. They think that once formed, the ice will not go away even in relatively warm weather. Perhaps in 2 weeks time we can start thinking aout icefishing.

It's almost there! One of the first placest to freeze, is the cove at Dike 3, and that's where the kokanee are! 8)
A late edit...last year, about this time, looked like I was first on the ice by dike3, fishing for kokes,...in about 7 feet of water, looked down the hole, and the macks were everywhere, swimming, searchng,...
