Anyone have any info on icing the grand mesa? is it mostly snowmobile xx? hiking xx or is there some spots that one can drive too? thinking about going up there tomorrow for a couple hrs to check it out!

Island is good to walk on from the east end. Just stay on the snowmobile trail and you'll be fine.

sounds good. what's up with the lake on the east side just as ya start up the mesa? we sledded across the street from there last year!

I believe your talking about Ward Creek res. Its decent for cutts and bows. Mostly small (8-10") but there is some bigger ones in there.

Middle Griffith used to have huge rainbows in it.
only problem there is it is fly/lures only and full of minnows so they are not very prone to hitting.

Island is fun and easy but slushy this time of year. The Splake make it fun to fish. They are aggressive and wack your jig/bait.
