Haven't posted a report in awhile, busy at work, but when a day opens,..fish it! LakerAngler, MacAttack and I hit Gm Sunday. What a bluebird day, and the fishing was pretty good. 11AM to 5PM. Water high and not clear, but lakers were hungry. From shore, sharp slope down. Jigs/suckmeat and kasties worked. A few caught on nightcrawlers caught in back yard after the rains. Nothing huge, typical 14-17 inch macs, but gotdamn! Nice to catch fish again. Did land a sweet 20 inch fattie (not me). missed more than we caught,..our hook-setting technique may need further improvement, lol! I kept 2, 16 inch, orange meat macs. Should have kept more, but my friends don't eat many fish, and I only keep what I can eat at one setting. Only saw 'bout 4 boats on lake.

Don't worry about the ones you missed. There are a lot of 6 to 12 inchers in there. With an aqua view ice fishing you can see they try like hell to get the bait in there mouth but it just won't fit. It's likely that most the hits you miss are sub catchables. Subcatchables are not harvested by anglers and that is one main reason us laker fisherman should keep advocating the release of all lake trout over 18" at green mountain. It's proven that lakers eat alot of their own.
