The Kokanee run does happen in October but I always thought it started more towards mid-October. With that said, I belive it happens at slightly different times from year to year and at locations. Some of the best sources you can utilize are local fishing shops. Look up fly fishing and general tackle shops in the area, call them up and ask them a few questions. I do that a lot to find out ice conditions and stuff.
