Hey guys.. Me and my girlfriend went on up to GROSS RES on 04/02/05.. Yes they do allow you to use hand propelled crafts. I heard that the waters been much deep this year then ever..
The report.. We only catch one but man what a hike it was.. With the water being soo high. Walking is much much further.. Even though the trails are the same. Its about an hour to an hour in a half hike to the inlet. Fishermen/woman were catching trout around 100 yards from were the river meets the RES. Boy it is deep. Fished from 5.30am to 10am that morning and only one little rainbow of 8 inches.. Castmaster seemed to be something alot of them guys out in the water were using.. Jigs and flies. We caught ours on worm. The muskies..! my friend HY had gone there the past week on my trip and he hooked on with a muskie that snapped his line when they tried to net it with a rapala. That was what i was after.. but no luck.. Well here are some pictures of the RES since that trout was soo huge..
I heard that there was a recent fire there at or near the RES.
