Went to gross early saturday. Hiked in to the inlet only to find out you can drive there through pinecliffe. Oh well, nice day for hiking anyways. Runoff is hard and heavy but the fishing at the bottom was pretty decent. Caught four trout, including 1 brown. Saw a couple of idiots on the lake with their boat. About a week too early but oh well you bunch of cheaters. Bait working real good with the guys next to us but we were using powerbait (chartreuse) and chartreuse jigs off the bottom. Always good to see when you wake up early, get there and find out your the only one there, then over the course of the next couple of hours watch people come and go because they are so impatient. Guess that's why we get up at the buttcrack of dawn, ay? Anyways, had a great day except for the wind that came through the canyon every ten minutes or so. (it really does affect everything there at the inlet. Might get back up there next week and try the creek below the dam. Anybody got a report for that area? Info would be great.
