I wanted to try a hard sided protective case for my ice rods, but the prices are pretty steep for some of those cases (up to $90). I found this rifle case at Cabelas for $20.

I had to unscrew the rod handles in order to have them flip over in order to gain a little extra room. I was able to arrange 6 rod/reel combos in this case.

This may be an option if you are looking for a hard sided case to transport your rods on the cheap.

Very cool! Byron (Walleye Seeker) gave me two soft gun cases that I use for ice rods. They work great.. not quite as tough as hard side, but do fine.

I use soft gun cases also. Nothing for it to beat up against and don't have to open a big case and dig/adjust for a particular rod.
