So after getting skunked at Waterton, I decided to hit Harriman Lake. I also got skunked there. I did get something on my line around 6pm. It put up a hell of a fight but my knot broke before I could get it close enough to see what it was. No fish today but I'm glad to have fished Harriman! This lake seems to have great potential. I bumped into a couple folks that regularly fish there and both of them had positive things to say about the fishing there (particularly channel cats and walleye!). Has any one else fished here? I'm thinking some night time cat fishing is going to be in order there pretty soon!

I had 2 setups. One setup was for cats (some stink bait) wich had no takers. The other setup, for most of the day, was an X-rap. Nothing hit the X-rap so I switched to a YUM plastic crawbug. This is the bait I got that great hit on. I would of liked to fish some more that evening but I had to pack it in. I guess that's how it works sometimes. Right when you have to call it a night is when you start getting bites!

shayes, thanks for the report, i have been meaning to go back out there, but i didnt wanna drive to a frozen lake like i did a few weeks ago

you should pm zman or trouthunter for some good information on harriman

as far as i know it's got saugeye, pike, lm bass, cats, and carp

there are probably some other fish in there too

i got a saugeye with a chrome rattle trap not so far back.... but i really want to hook up to one of the bigger pikes in that lake, thats why i keep the leader on haha... ive seen a few follow my lures but no go..

i also had a talk with some of the locals while fishing, and i guess there are some nice crappie in that lake as well..

Some crappie would be nice! To bad you can't take any boats or canoes out on that lake (or any other small lake around this part of town :-[)

yeah, it would be nice... its just that i dont have canoe either hahahha
