Pueblo does warm up a little faster but its probably still a little early. I got water temp of 37-39. Trout are biting OK. Ed

I fished the arkansas tailwaters down there last weekened in Jan. I was targetting smallies working them slow and hard trying to coax them into biting but kept seeing trout slurping the surface a little ways down river and after a day of not getting a hit for the smallies switched to the fly and got skunked on the trout as well, couldnt match the hatch I guess. Had a trout come say hi to me too less then a foot away came up and slurped a fly (real one) right next to me, if I had had my net down I probably could have scooped him up.
The trout habitat project that is going on in that area is amazing and they are doing a fine job, just hope it doesnt mess with the smallmouth fishing this summer.

Thanks guys! Just getting cabin fever. I may try it any way. I had some luck a few year ago this early with a floating jig head and minnow. I used to fly fish the river with small streamers year round and out fish any one. FYI
