Has anyone ever fished in these metro area waters?

East Reservoir

Harriman Lake

Marston Lake

Ward Reservoir #1 or #5

Belmar Park

Maple Grove Reservoir

Bass, West, or Tabor Lakes in Arvada

Hyatt, Broad, Omega or Kelly in Arvada

Tucker, Blunn or Church, Upper/Lower Long Lakes

Just some waters i found while looking at google maps. Close to home, and looked interesting.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian...I'll share what I can about a few of these lakes. I've done the same thing as you...take a map and start checking off places with fences and no tresspassing signs as I drive and explore.

Harriman Lake: Off Quincy and Kipling...carp fest! I have caught bass here and one small pike. I know they say they only stock muskie and not pike but the markings make me 99% sure it was a pike. Water is usually a bit stained.

Marston Lake: No fishing allowed...this is Denver Water Board property used for walleye reproduction.

Bass, West, or Tabor Lakes in Arvada: I live in Golden so this is my home away from home. Too much info to cover here. The area is called Prosepct Park Lakes, not to be confused with the are of the same name in Fort Collins.

Hyatt, Broad, Omega or Kelly in Arvada...never heard of them. Most likely private or irrigation with no fishing allowed.

Tucker, Blunn or Church, Upper/Lower Long Lakes: These are some more DWB/irrigation lakes. No fishing.

I live a few miles from Harriman. Never fished it. I have walked the dog there a few times. Any suggestions on what areas would be good to work? I heard in addition to the tiger muskie there are supposed to be saugeyes, bass and catfish also. Looks like it might be a good lake for some bluegill also.

So what do you guys recommend ?

anyone know if you can fish harriman at night? quick reply as we are going somewhere tonight just don't know where yet.

Other ideas were the

South Platte ponds....but not sure how to get there.

Evergreen Lake .... Can you fish there at night?

or there are a couple ponds off the South side of I-70 off Chief Hosa Exit. Anyone ever fished there before?

You get to the South Platte Ponds from west bound c-470. there is an exit that looks like it goes to the gravel quarry. Take that and go east on the gravel road. If there has been a lot of rain they sometimes close the road to vehicles and you have to walk about a quarter of a mile to get to the ponds.

its right after the santa fe exit... just a side note look carefully its not well marked, just a sign that says right turn only or something like that

The Chatfield ponds are south of the reservoir there are I think 5 or 6 total. 2 east of the river and 4 west of it.

The dog ponds are north of the reservoir but south of c-470. Everything north of 470 are the South Platte Ponds.

If you go further north up to Mineral (on the south side of Mineral and west of the river) there are a couple of more ponds. When I drove by there the other night I saw a couple of guys wading, any one know how to access those? I always thought they were off limits like the larger water to the north of Mineral.

Is Herriman the one on the west side of the road to the Federal Prison? I work there and heard that there is one close by.

We also have one on the prison grounds, I don't mean that one.
