help with ice reports. my dad and i are heading up to fish granby, williams fork and willow creek over presidents day weekend. would really appreciate any info on ice thickness. accuweather shows theres been a few warmer days up there and was wondering if its affected getting out with sleds. i have 2 snowmobiles, 1' trail tracks on both, towing an otter. last year got stuck a few times cause snow was around 10" and slush underneith. just trying to find out if theres slush, and if granby is good to get around with my setup? i know no sleds or wheelers on the fork. also is there a pressure ridge on granby or sketchy spots to avoid? any info would help. thank you in advance.

This fishing report is brought to you by "Fishing with Bernie". Rainbows and Kokanee are biting very well in Wolford and Willow Creek. The rainbow bite in all the lakes is best from first light till about 9am. The pump canal and shadow mtn spillway is producing rainbows, browns and an occasional kokanee. Lake trout in Williams Fork and Lake Granby are hitting a variety of soft plastic baits tipped with sucker meat, depths are from 25'-80'. Look for the lake trout to start suspending over deep water in the next few weeks. Dillon reservoir is producing some nice browns and catchable rainbows near the shorelines, Char are being caught in 20-50 feet of water. Bernie Keefe has been guiding in the middle park are for over 20 years.

Willow Creek ice was 20 inches last Saturday. Lots of small rainbow and a few small kokanee.

Thank you for the fish reports. Definitely going to willow and granby. Is the snow/slush deep on willow and granby? And that pressure ridge, does it go through the middle of the lake or just between the shore and the island? Thanks again.

The pressure ridge mostly spans the entire lake. Plenty of crossings.

Was no slush on Willow Creek last Saturday. About three inches of heavy snow on the ice.

Willow Creek edges were sketchy. 20 inches of ice on the lake. Lots of stocker bows in the lake, Granby was slow.

Thanks troutbum1. Can a guy still get on the lake with snowmobiles with the edges the way they are? My dad has knee and hip problems so walking to far is out.

The first parking area was better than the second area. Access may have improved with the recent colder temps. The folks at Budget Tackle in Grandby can give you an up to date report.
