Hey all I was wondering what the conditions are like at chatfield. Water temp and lake level. Where the best spots that the smallmouth have been taken. What they have been taken on. Depth. Either share here in the forum or personal messege would be greatly apreciated!!!!

Thanks Guys. Apreciate the help. Its too bad that people like him don't get to know people before they make comments like that. Cause then he would know that I have only one arm that I lost in dessert Storm. So if I did have someone to take the fish off it might actually be helpful........

Razor........welcome to what is said in our Forum sometimes.
The last time we were there fishing in our boat (two weekends ago), the water temp was 58 degrees and we were going for trout in 30 feet of water in the No Wake area. Bass (small or large) are generally caught next to the dam area in 10-15 feet of water, using ???? (not sure). I've also heard that bass are in the ponds behind the dam. I will also agree that Chatfield can be a real challenge to fish in sometimes.......then, other times the fishing is really "hot".
Hope this helps.

It seems Chatfield is turning on. Ihave been catching fish and it seems I am seeing other folks catch fish too. Bass, walleye and trout. Still a little early for much success with cats, and there are very few crappie and perch in there.

Temp has warmed up to nearly 60 degrees, lots of success reported along the dam both from shore and boats. Leeches and minnows seem to be the keys. Becareful of snags, there is a fortune of lost tackle along the dam including a few hundred dollars that I have donated!

Don't really know what the depth back there is, but we were close to the inlet a couple of weeks ago and our sonar was reading a depth of 4 feet at one spot. We had to get out of there, our boat can't handle being in that shallow of water.
