Well it has been a whirlwind fall. Moved a couple of times. Settled in to the new place. Got up late yesterday, had some breakfast, coffee etc. tied a couple of midges, checked the weather and saw that snow was coming so I better go fishing while the guides won't ice. So I threw on the waders, vest grabbed the rod and......................................................... Walked to the river! Yes, I found a place within walking distance of a river with trout in it.. Not a razzle dazzle tailwater but after checking it out a couple of times I can see some good overwintering habitat, undercut banks etc. A nice little front range freestone... The new job, mostly 4 day weeks... I am going to get to really know this bit of river...... First trout not real big but they will come with time spent on the water...
