I was planning on getting up early and fly fishing Horsetooth this morning by kayak. We'll, I slept in and decided to take my wife and our two person kayak. We didn't get there until around 11am. We put in at the north launch and paddled around the first two coves on that end. I made a few casts here and there with a sink tip leader and a firetiger bellyache minnow. Managed 4 smallmouth, 3 were around 12-13". I heard they were hitting topwaters earlier in the AM. I didn't really fish much due the wind & waves and having my wife with me. We left around 2:30. This was my first time there. I'll probably go back again earlier in the morning before the heavy boat traffic starts. Lake looks very full.
