I rarely post actual reports since I normally fish small waters, so here's one for Horsetooth. Got there around 6am. Cloudy with a breeze. Only a couple boats on the water. Put in on the north end. Fly fished the west side from my kayak. Started with poppers. Caught a couple and had quite a few swipes but no takes. Smallmouth would hit 3 or 4 feet out from shore, usually while the popper was still. Switched to a sink tip leader w/ bellyache minnows & clousers. Caught a handful more but didn't have quite the action I expected. Might have been fishing too fast or too shallow. Fished until around 12:30, ended up with 12 or so & missed a few. Biggest was a little over 15". Reservoir looks very full. Also picked up one green sunfish around 6 or 7".
