What is the drive to Horsetooth Reservoir like? Are there and canyon hills or steep inclines to go up? My SUV is kinda a dog and pulling a boat up a bunch of hills would kill it.

Also, Does it get the water sport pressure that other local lakes does?

There's really only one hill to go over to get to Horsetooth. It's moderately steep, but only ~ 3/4 of a mile. It does get heavy recreation use (jetski's etc.). Maybe with this colder weather lately they won't be out as thick. You'll have to pay a fee to launch your boat. The fee is listed as $7/vehicle and $7/boat. I'm not sure if that means that you'll have to pay $14 total to launch your boat and park your car.
Let us know if you get any of those few remaining monster wipers in there. Good luck!

If you need to go to the North ramp, there are a couple of hills that are VERY steep, so I'd recommend that you stay on the west side launches.

The nice thing about Horsetooth related to fishing pressure is that you have many wakeless little coves, nooks and crannies to hide away in.
