Haha I have a hard time spending 7-8$ for a Rapala. I've invested in a couple lure savers that I put on the lures I'm using at the time just incase I get hung up. Never had to use them yet nor have I lost a fish with them yet so they havent saved me any money but just saving one or two lures to me is worth it. Unless you can make money on the lures that cost that much money to use I dont see any return on an investment like that, especially since I dont even eat the fish I return them.

I have been buying the Lucky Craft pointers for several years now. Not happy about the price but the 78 and 78 DD is about all I throw when I'm fishing a small sized sus. jerk. Are they worth $15-I think so. When you consider what you spend to go fishing-the gas (for the truck and the boat), the liscense, the parks pass, the rods and reels and line and lures-whats an extra $15. Now $316, that I couldn't bring myself to put down for a lure. Ed

When I spend $5 on a rapala,  it hurts.  I have a couple big lures for tiger muskies that cost $7 or 8.  (i have used each maybe 1 or 2 times in 2 or 3 years.)  I do love to have lots of "shiny" stuff in my tackle box and being prepared for that day when someone tells me the fish are biting on "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka-dot bikini lures" but if they cost more than a few bucks I better catch fish every other cast.

I think I do better overall with the old reliable inexpensive lures.  Besides these days most of my money goes for gas.

Remember the day when you could buy a marabou jig for 29 cents?

I think you guys need to look closer at the add. Ya'll must have missed the part about it (the lure) keeping your beer cold, attracting women, and cooking and cleaning your fish. For 300+ dollors it must do a lot more than a $5 rappala, that we all feel sick after losing. I haven't got my issue yet (F&S), but when I do I'm sure I'll see the fine print that ya'll missed.  8)

Remember the Banjo Minnow?? HAHAAAHA!!! I bought quite a few sets.

Not a bad invention. I bought em' when they were expensive and being advertised late at night. What ever happened to those anyway? I caught a few big largemouths on those.

I could do several multi-day fishing trips to flaming gorge or powell for the price of one of those!I have thousands of dollars worth of lures downstairs but I will never spend that much on one lure!

I purchased the pointer after researching the product for some time and watching the third all time weight limit come a BASS tournament. I am usually very thrifty with my money but I could not help myself. I am a tackle junkie. Maybe some one should start TACKLE ANONYMOUS.

I've have a ton of lures and haven't gone through a loosing spree in a long long time. I find myself fishing mostly with inexpensive kastmasters and a ton of jigheads and rubber.

Send me your broomsticks and shovel handles, so I can start widdling my own lures. Fishing is a billion dollar industry and the owners of of these large companies continue to hike up the prices to see how much they can get away with.

I agree, we need to send a stong signal to these manufactures by backing off on some of our purchases; if you don't absolutely need it, don't buy it.

Just my two cents... widdling Pete

In my opinion any thing less than a second mortage is ok. In my wifes opinion any thing more than $.25 is too much. So we have developed an agrement between us, I buy what I want then hide it in the garage and don't tell her. And she controls the mortage, the pink slip on the cars and all bank accounts, so what ever I find in the washing machine, couch or on the floor I can spend. Did any of you know that leather purses don't wash very well?

I think that 7.00 is about the limit on a crankbait. I did break that rule but only once. Tackle is a neccesary evil. I have a good example. I was fishing with two buddies in a boat, I was out fishing them three to one. The bass were nailing a bone wiggle wart and I was the only one with that color. My friends tried different colors and different baits with no improvement. I have had this happen time and time again. This unfortunatley reinforces the need for lots of tackle. I will say that last year I landed about 40%of my fish on a cabelas 9 cent tube or grub. I am a sick man. I need mental help.

I catch a bunch of fish with senkos, cheap curly tails, and panther martin spinners. Anything over 6 bucks is a no no for me, not worth it. I catch plenty of fish the way it is without spending 316.00 for a lure.
