To the Lake Trout Mafia:

In light of the recent topic I created (and since removed) and the responses I have posted in a few different topics/polls I must offer a confession.

The people who know me, well... know me and know that I would not do to the Lake Trout what I have stated I would.

I truely admire your passion, respect your view and support your cause.

BUT, what I do not like is the attacking of others who do not share the same passion, views and support as you do in regards to Lake Trout. Calling people stupid, idiots, and other names is uncalled for especially when these people are following the rules/regulations/laws set forth by the state and federal government. They were only posting the response to a question posed in a topic.

And in the same regards, my responses were uncalled for as well as I was doing nothing more than stirring the pot when I should have answered the questions in a serious manner (as I do more often than not).

All we can do is try to educate those people who do not understand the species. I cannot however say how the best way to do this is, but I would think a less aggressive approach might be better received.

That is all I have.

Well said waterfowler. I would have to say the same. We all need to think about our actions and what is best for the sport we all love. I also deleted the thread I started, it was ment in a way to show that some topics are not needed. I should have come up with something better than that stupid poll. My apologies to you.

We can educate people with what we say in these forums. People do listen.

It's funny that your conscience got to you to. I was in the process of posting something similar. You beat me to it.

It just goes to show you are a great person to come out and tell it like it is. Seems these days people get the rules and regs hand book. And never really know what it says. And People will learn more on here than any book will. You have allot of guys go through the book instead of just one trying to figure it all out.

Waterfowler, I think most people knew you were just stirring the pot.

But your Bears comment...man that's right through the heart! :'(

Why don't you just fish for them and not give a damn what others think of you for it? if they don't like your reports on you keeping large lakers, just lock the thread.

You guys can make fun all you want. I knew Slayer would respond, and I really don't care much for Bears fans.

I guess I shouldn't let my conscience bother me as much as I do.
You gotta quit with all this pillow talk... ;D

Any guy that wades into chest-deep water to grab a dying pike doesnt have to explain himself. Been there--seen it. I dont need an explanation.

Personally, I would LOVE to see a poll of how many people would NOW keep a big laker as opposed to releasing it just because of recent threads/links/events and people's attitudes. So much for the theory that "If I can reach one person..." You might save one, but seven others now want to harpoon a big laker, cut its head off and stick it in a Laker Mafia's bed...just to see them scream.

Of course, that could just be my sick and twisted self... ;D
