I own an 8" Strikemaster Lazer and it is a laser. I bought it last season and it's probably drilled well over 500 holes for me and still cuts like new. How fast? About an inch or more per second. It rips it up.
If you do opt for a 10" auger then be sure to get the largest motor as the 10" requires a lot more torque than the 8" (think surface area).
