Wondering if anyone here does this or knows of a good avenue to go through.
I have limited experience with belaying and rock wall climbing.
I don't even know where one would go to do this type of sport near the front range. Ouray has an annual competition but that's all I know of.
The Wilderness Exchange sells axes, crampons and helmets so I figure there must be SOME small outlet for this in CO.

Any thoughts?

I don't know where to begin BUT I've noticed some very nice colouirs along I-70 that people have climbed. Check out mountainproject.com's forum they might be able to steer you in the right direction.

If you're looking to start out, you may want to get involved with the Colorado Mountain Club

http://www.cmc.org/

There's a TON of areas around the state to climb depending on conditions. Boulder Canyon, I-70 near Silver Plume, Aspen, Rocky Mountain National Park, etc., etc.

I used to climb but quit in 1999 due to a friend who died after a fall.

Be safe and get good instruction.

Right on! I'll check em out! I found a program in Vail as well. Been wanting to join something more volunteer based too so CMC could be the ticket :)
