My buddy was getting over a stomach flu, so our plans changed from our original 5 mile destination, to a much shorter hike.

We decided on checking out lake Isabelle in IPWA since we have never been there. Lake was drawn down pretty low. No fish caught at the lake, however the creek in-between Long and Isabelle is decent fishing for small Brookies. Caught several, with the biggest being only about 10 inches. Prince nymph was the most effective sub surface fly. They were also taking Ants on top.

Lots of people on the trail, very few people fishing except at Brainard, which was fairly packed.

Overall a fun day, but I wont prioritize going back to Isabelle to fish. Much better places to fish in Indian Peaks and surrounding areas in my opinion.

If you have to be skunked somewhere, Lake Isabelle sure is a gem of a lake to look at.
