fished the place for the first time ever this year on both sides. west side deep in the trees was probably some of the most mythical crappie fishing i ever had in CO. 10-12 inch slabs on every cast, with bobby garlands and topwater storm plugs.

effing sucks some idiots couldnt follow the rules. i seen lots of people on that bridge... and given that you can see trains for miles from that bridge, those morons were testing their luck for what they thought was a good spot, which imo there were many better places on that trestle.
Im sure the next thing that will happen is they will gate the west side and lock the gate on the southeast entrance for safety reasons.

I know people who know those "those morons." Those people expressed concern rather than anything else but, yeah, it was prolly not a smart move. :D

I fish it from my boat anyway-
Went there once on my boat. There were people there, so I went fishing somewhere else. Plenty of spots to fish at JM if you are on a boat.

i dont feel bad for people who break the law and suffer consquences for it, legal or tragic... but thats me.

i moved away from the crowds at the trestle and still put a pounding on them. few people will boat it since its a dead forest of bramble for over a mile back there. its gonna create a fish nursery that will greatly improve the fishery overall.
