My son with the MONSTER CRAPPIE

Steve's Catch

Eendo's Catches

Great day on the lake.  I used mussels, shrimp, & curly tails in glow green.  Caught marjority of the fish on the curly tails!

I started out using shrimp & mussel on the bottom.  Not a single bump.
Started working the shoreline with the jig. BAM!  First fish of the day.
I was shocked catching white bass/wipers on those curly tails.  I was targeting the crappies.

As the day heated up, I slowed down the presentation.  The crappies were deeper later in the day.  I let the jigs drop before retrieving.  Lost TONS of jigs!

I'm stocking up on this curly tail.  I've caught a lot of the fishes this year with it! ;D

Here's the HOT LURE of the day(not exact picture- but similar)- In Glow Green silver flakes-

Great post. Really like to see the kids involved(even if it's only for a picture).

Thanks-

My son did fish, but did not catch any fish.
He doesn't have the patience.

The Crappies range from 10 to 14 1/2 inches and FAT! :p

A lot of fish were caught and released due to size.

Really nice day fishing by the looks of your trophies. Those are some really big crappie. I would say award size.

Here are a few more pictures from that day.. I couldnt find a big enough ruler so I had to use my sisters planner ruler to measure em. The Ruler only went up to 10..

Kastmisser- It sucks going far and not catching anything. Might want to try crawdads on the bottom for wipers. My friends tried to catch some, but not much luck @ this time of the year. Steve tried everything in his & my tackle box without any luck.

Fishingkats- I don't know what side we were on. It was my first time there.

Fisher32- Weather was nice.
