Hi all,
Curious if any one has been to John Martin to fish the spillway recently?

I know some dudes from here went a couple weeks ago and said it was real slow. Those guys fish out tgere a lot so I'd take their word for it for sure. That was a couple weeks ago so can't say if it's changed since then.

The last report I had was the 5th of March . The Spillway are was fishing good for Saugeye in the 19 to 21 inch range using twister tail type grubs on a jig head with a fathead . Crappie were doing well with a slip bobber and a minnow.
Catfish in the 3 lb class were doing good on worms and cut bait. This was before the last cold spell that hit . After the spell it has slowed down quite a
bit.

Hopefully with some warmer weather it will pick up again.

I think the fish bite better when the spillway is flowing.

Here is a link that shows the current flow:

I dont know where your going from but if I were planning on driving all that way to hit the spillway I would wait until its flowing. Just my 2 cent.

If not flowing I would hit the reservoir.
